How to Apply Foundation
Tips for Applying Foundation
- Choosing the right shade:
Before buying your foundation make sure it should match your skin tone. You can find perfact shade by applying the foundation along your jaw line or across the head. The one that disappear into your skin, blending samelessly is the one to go for.
- Choosing the right type:
- Apply moisturizer:
First of all wash your hands to prevent breakouts. Now start by applying moisturizer, it will make the blending easier and will gives you a more natural look.(use an oil free moisturizer if u have oily skin). Let the moisturizer set for about 3 to 4 minutes.
- How to apply Foundation:
Applying foundation with makeup brushes is easier to achieve a flawless finish without much waste. It provides even application and blending. Using a sponge will gives you a more natural look and thinner layer. You can use your finger tips but it will waste most of the product (my case).
Slightly warm the foundation on the back of your hand, heat will make it spread out better and will last longer. Apply dots one to your cheeks, forehead, nose, chin, eyelids and lips and then blend into your skin. Dot the foundation on one side of the face first and blend well with makeup sponge, brush or finger tip and then apply on the other side. Press the sponge gently over your face to set the foundation.
Blending is very important so that you don't have any line that can be seen on your neck, under your jaw or cheeks. Blend using light circular motions making sure not to pull or stretch the skin. Double check in a natural light that no lines are showing.
Now apply a concealer under your eyes to conceal dark eye areas and also on face to hide blemishes. Remember to always pat in the concealer, don’t rub it.
To set your foundation apply loose powder immediately with a puff, rolling and pushing it into the skin and blend well.
Applying foundation correctly, will help your makeup look so much better and last longer.
